Caroline
Black is a highly experienced corporate, consumer, business-to-business
and issues/crisis management communications professional.
She has a wide appreciation of all marketing disciplines (PR, Advertising,
Direct Marketing, Sales Promotion).
She also has extensive management experience (Communications; Management
Development; Human Resource Management; Training and Development; New
Business/Business Development).
Caroline is a qualified people developer (ie learning and development
designer and facilitator, coach and mentor) and is an approved Institute
of Public Relations trainer. She acts as conference chair and also lectures
and speaks on communications.
On a more personal note Caroline is also an accredited funeral officiant
for the British Humanist Association.
Caroline is the author of the PR Practitioners Desktop Guide (Thorogood
2001) and was the programme consultant and presenter of Voluntary Matters
4, a series of documentaries on communications for the voluntary sector.
Before setting up Caroline Black & Associates, Caroline was a Board
Director and People and Business Development Director at public relations
consultancy, Grayling Group where she had specific management responsibilities
for training and development and new business.
And prior to that, Caroline worked in the advertising and PR industries.
She also worked on the client side. She began her career with one of the
countrys leading advertising agencies. She then moved to Guinness
Brewing to become in-house PR Manager for both the on and off trade sectors
ie consumer and business to business. She went on to become a PR
consultant, working for clients that included learndirect, DfES, Investors
in Peole UK, the Rafsanjan Pistachio Producers Cooperative, Mobil, Nutricia
(Cow and Gate), Smith & Nephew, Holland & Barrett, Campbells
Soups, Crookes Healthcare, Premier Beverages (Typhoo, Cadburys,
London Herb & Spice) and J Sainsbury plc and the European Commission's
Olive Oil Campaign
