Humanist Funerals, Baby Namings and Weddings

On a personal level Caroline also leads Humanist ceremonies, principally funerals. She came to this work after the deaths of her parents, both of whom had non-religious funerals.
Humanist ceremonies are tailored and personalised ceremonies that are written by the officiant to reflect the personalities and wishes of those involved. They include recorded or live music, poetry and prose reading, often read or performed by family and friends. The officiant acts as the MC and coordinates the entire ceremony. She will also write tailored pieces, particularly the tribute in funerals, and read pieces if those involved request this.
Humanist ceremonies take place, anywhere you choose except, of course, religious buildings or sites. So you might choose to have a ceremony at home, in a school or college, in the back room of a pub or in specially hired buildings and premises, like stately homes and even rugby clubs.
